      <image:caption>Anne Pomerantz is an applied linguist and language educator. For over 20 years, she has helped ESL specialists, world language instructors, K-12 teachers, and university faculty to engage in pedagogies that support multilingual students’ language development. Anne has designed and led professional development workshops for educators in both the U.S. and around the world. Her research focuses on how people communicate in multilingual classrooms and communities.  She is the co-author of Humor in the Classroom: A Guide for Language Teachers and Educational Researchers and has published many articles and book chapters on language education.  Anne holds a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics and an MS.Ed. in TESOL from the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education, where she currently serves as Professor of Practice.  Prior to this, she was a teacher of Spanish and English-as-a-second-language (ESL).</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>
